McAlister’s Deli offers multiple keto-friendly options including salads, soups, and bunless sandwiches. Being a Deli, they have all kinds of high-fat, low-carb meats and cheeses that you can combine any way you want.

We all associate McAlister’s Deli with rich, juicy (and carb-heavy) sandwiches! But did you know how easy it is to score a perfectly low-carb meal here?

My go-to method is to pick a basic salad (Caesar salad) and load it up with beef, bacon, ham, pastrami, or just about anything I feel like.

Or you can also order a sandwich in a bowl (bunless) and customize it the way you like!

They have over 40 different toppings and add-ons that you can choose from. So technically, there are an endless number of combinations available!

McAlister’s Deli also has a smart nutrition calculator on their website, which lets you add or remove any ingredient. But we have made the job easier for you!

Sandwiches (Without Bread)

As you already know, NO sandwich is keto-friendly since they all come with bread, bun, or baguette.

So you’ll have to request a ‘bunless’ sandwich where they give you all the ingredients in a bowl.

Or you may also opt for a lettuce wrap (we’ve found most restaurants to happily entertain that request)

There are 16 bunless sandwiches available that range from 2g-11g of net carbs.

1. Customize your order:

Many menu items at McAlister’s Deli can be customized to make them more keto-friendly.

For example, you can ask to hold the bread on a sandwich or swap it for a lettuce wrap or ask for extra meat or cheese to increase the fat content of your meal.

2. Make use of 0g and 1g carb items:

Out of the 40+ toppings, cheese, and add-ons, there are a handful of ingredients that you can add for 1g or less. For example, provolone cheese, au jus, salami, etc.

Since keto only allows 20-25g net carbs per day, these can be your savior on days when you’ve already maxed out your quota.

3. Order off the menu:

McAlister’s Deli has a wide variety of menu items, so don’t be afraid to ask for something that is not listed on the ‘official’ menu.
